Alex
Yuan founded A&L Computer Software Limited in 1982 and is
responsible for the company's successful growth as a leading medical
software development company in Ontario.
He is a Director and Treasurer of the Medical Software Developer
Association of Ontario (MSDAO). In 1995, he was named "Business
Entrepreneur of the Year" and presented with this prestigious
award. Board of Directors, Vice Chair Information Systems for
Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care 1995-1997.
In 1997, Alex spearheaded the creation of the S'port for Kids Foundation whose mission is to advance the physical, emotional and social development of youth by providing guidance, support and funding to individuals, family and community where the need is demonstrated. In 2004, S’port for Kids has provided over $500,000 for community sport and helped more than 4,700 youth across Canada.
Established an American presence for A&L's products by opening a client centre in Fallbrook, California in August of 1997.
In 1998 he was named "Entrepreneur of the Year" by the Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs. In April of 1998, Alex was selected to the Team Richmond Hill Business Ambassador Program.
In October 1998, he was a winner of the 1998 OCC-Ontario Chamber
of Commerce ‘Outstanding Business Achievement Award’ and was featured
in the Toronto Star, Toronto Sun and the Global and Mail..
Alex was also a member of the Ontario Jobs and
Investment Board - Chaired by the Premier of Ontario
In February 2000, Alex was invited to join the Ontario Medical Association as a Cabinet Member for OMSBF - Chaired by the President of OMA.
In October of 2001, Alex was named with a prestige award as the Chinese Canadian Legend. In 2001-2003, Alex was featured monthly as a Computer Advisor at the CFMT Television for the Chinese Business Hour program.
